There are many social groups for fellowship, faith, service, and more. Here are just a few of the upcoming meetings:
Book Group
Tuesday, December 3 at 7:30 PM on Zoom
Discussing Leave Only Footprints: My Acadia-to-Zion Journey Through Every National Park by Conor Knighton
The church book group selects a book of their choosing to read each month. Often they follow themes like historical fiction, current events, social topics, justice and civil rights, religion and faith. This group meets on Zoom on the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 PM. To receive the Zoom link to join the meeting, please email the office.
Let’s Talk
Tuesday, December 10 at 1:30 PM in the church Parlor
This conversation group meets monthly on the 2nd Tuesday at 1:30 PM. Folks gather to discuss a particular topic (sometimes pre-decided, sometimes seasonal, sometimes it’s what’s on our hearts and minds, like current events or what’s going on in our community). No matter what, this hour and a half of fellowship is a way to stay connected and maybe see something from a different point of view by listening and sharing with a neighbor.
Women ‘n Stitches
Tuesday, December 10 at 7:15 PM in Room 17
Join a group of sewers and quilters working on projects like Dress a Girl Around the World. This group meets each month on the 2nd Tuesday at 7:15 PM.
Yarning to Care
Monday, December 30 at 1 PM in the Parlor
Join a group of knitters and crocheters working on a variety of projects, including prayer shawls, blankets for church baptisms as well as personal projects.
Mindful Meditation & Monday Yoga
Reach out if you’re interested in joining an upcoming gathering of the Sunday afternoon meditation group and Monday yoga group.
Circles
Women of the church have been meeting in small groups called “Circles” for decades and are roughly organized by age groups. These circles meet anywhere from monthly social gatherings, to once-in-awhile special projects. Interested in learning more about circles? Let us know!
Church Families Night Out
Next Date TBA
Families are invited to gather on Sunday, March 10 from 4:30-6 PM downstairs in Pilgrim Hall (enter Town Hall door or Sanborn Street ramp and go down the stairs near the ballet studio) for a “Sunday School” type activity (story and craft or a game), a potluck dinner, and some supervised playtime (so parents can also get to know each other!).
