Countdown to the Olde Redding Faire!
Faire season is here!
Things are rapidly coming together for the 2024 Faire. Once again, we are fortunate to have the large tent so most of the activities can be outside on the Sanborn Street lawn. It is so exciting to be under the big top! Most of the old favorites booths are back, some with new twists this year. As always, the most important component in the Olde Reading Faire is YOU! There are roles for everyone. Hand out flyers at the Street Fair, plan a food booth, set up tables, staff a booth or two, welcome attendees, clean up. Contact Betsy for more information. No special skills or experience are required.
Faire Food – We Need You!
Many hands make light work. We are all busy, but our 2024 Faire cannot be a success without more volunteers. We truly need YOU.
Please step up and offer to help in the food court. Our Faire Food has always been a very popular part of the event. We plan to simplify the process this year, but we still need people to make it happen. There are several options left so you can choose your degree of difficulty.
Email Jeannie Peirce to find out more.
Silent Auction – What’s your jam?
Experience tells the silent auction team that the items that “sell” best come from your creative thinking and talented hands. Are you a great cook or baker? Offer your best dish delivered to the winner. Are you handy? Help out the winner with weeding, cleaning, fixing, or painting. Do you have a special place you like to get your nails/hair/massage done? Gift certificates, baskets and tickets are always good sellers. Once you decide, fill out this form to let us know!

Sharing your Perennials at the Faire …
If your garden is getting overgrown, here is a solution. Mark Johnson has dumped compost on Mary Ann Higgins’ driveway for you to use when you divide your overgrown plants. There are also lots of pots if you need them. Just come, no need to call. When potted, bring them back to Mary Ann’s for labeling. We will sell at the farm stand and beautify our gardens, in the giving and the receiving. Call Mary Ann with questions.
Bake Table
I am very excited to see everyone at the Bake Table again this year. We need everyone’s help with making baked goods to sell, as we sell out almost every year!
- Cookies, squares, brownies, breads, whole pies, monkey bread, cupcakes, etc.
- Please, no lemon meringue or anything requiring refrigeration.
- Please label (each “package”) with ingredients (especially identify any nuts).
- Containers or plates must be covered/ wrapped or sealed (e.g. Clear Saran wrap, baggies or clear containers – not tin foil.)
You can bring your goodies to the fair on Saturday morning or drop off to me on Friday.
Please call Debbie or preferably email if you have any questions, or if you need your item to be picked up on Friday.
